This 12 month-long program will place youth in sales and service positions within The Bike Union, our bicycle retail location. Employees will be trained and tested bi-monthly on a job-specific skills matrix. Additionally, employees will refine their core competencies via SCAN (Secretary’s Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills) in order to become viable employees with marketable abilities.
BUMP – Meets weekly during June- August (Date, Time, and Location TBD)
This is a mountain biking program designed to introduce the benefits of cycling to a traditionally underserved demographic. Among the benefits of this program are a healthy lifestyle, setting and achieving goals, and self-esteem building. Participants set goals and are tested on technical bicycling riding skills. BUMP meets weekly June-August.
Bike-Builder Certification – Apply Today! Coming Soon.
This is an intensive 4-week bicycle assembly course. Once certified, and after completion of application, resume, and interview courses, The Bike Union will aid participants in securing permanent employment as a bicycle assembler in area Independent bike shops, sporting goods stores, and large-chain retailers.
In conjunction with these programs, employees will donate two hours a week to learn the importance of investing in our community.

Join other youth from the surrounding community a chance to learn the skills to maintain and sustain their own bicycles.
